Years of working together have shown us that partnerships are really valuable. We have developed our collaboration further through a legal structure, a cooperative learning Trust, which protects each school’s autonomy, offers equality to all Learning Partnership schools and links us firmly to local community involvement.
The Legal Business
The legal entity of the Godalming Learning Partnership (GLP) was founded in Dec 2018 when four community schools: Busbridge Infant, Godalming Junior, Milford School and Moss Lane School, changed their legal school category to foundation and placed their land and assets into the GLP.
Our other schools have formally joined the GLP as their legal school status allows, with most being Associate Members and some being Educational Partners. Most importantly the joint work of the past decade continues and is flourishing, offering exciting opportunities in curriculum enhancement, teacher training and staff professional development.
May 2019 saw local mayors and councillors, bishops and vicars, education specialists and business leaders, headteachers and school governors, parents and, crucially, children gathered together to celebrate the official launch of the Godalming Learning Partnership.
